When something needs pitch-slapping, there’s only one woman for the job.
Which is why Anna Kendrick knows that while there are rumors a fourth Pitch Perfect movie is in the works, the Bellas need Rebel Wilson to really make it happen.
“I feel like I'm always the last to know,” Anna joked to E! News’ Will Marfuggi at the Oct. 10 premiere of Woman of the Hour. “But I know that Rebel was kind of the one out in the world talking about it. And she is kind of a powerhouse steam train kind of person.”
She continued, “So there's part of me that's like, if anyone can make it happen, it's really her. I'll put that in her hands.”
But even though Woman of the Hour just became Anna’s first directing project, were a fourth Pitch Perfect movie to be greenlit, the 39-year-old wouldn’t necessarily be stepping up to the mic.
“I'm not sure that any of those ladies would appreciate me being in charge of anything,” Anna joked. “They know me a little too well to take me seriously as a leader.”
The Twilight alum also shared an update on yet another much anticipated sequel of hers: A Simple Favor 2, which she stars in alongside Blake Lively.
“I know that everybody says this, but it really is one of those situations where the sequel is much crazier than the first one,” Anna teased. “And the first one was pretty crazy.”
She added, however, that the film is in good hands with director Paul Feig.
“For a guy who's known for comedy, Paul Feig has a reserve of delicious darkness in that brain of his,” Anna added. “I can say that with confidence and know that you'll see what I mean when it comes out.”
Anna also previously opened up about her nerves returning to a role in front of the camera after being in the driver’s seat for Woman of the Hour.
“I was actually really happy that it was a lot of the same filmmaking team,” she told E! news in September, “because it was the first movie that I was acting in after directing for the first time.”
As she explained, “I was very worried about getting on a set and having people feel like, ‘Oh, wow. You direct one movie and you think you know everything. And they were like, ‘Oh, she's always been like this. She's always been opinionated and nosy.’ So at least they knew that's just my personality.”
Woman of the Hour premieres Oct. 18 on Netflix.
